The Wholesale Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys have placed veteran receiver DeSean Jackson on injured reserve, meaning he will not be eligible to return until the wild-card round of the playoffs.

Jackson suffered a torn abdominal muscle during Sunday’s game against the Wholesale Chicago Bears Jerseys and will have surgery, his representative told ESPN on Monday.

Tests revealed he has a full tear. The recovery time is expected to be at least six weeks.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — It’s getting ugly early for the Wholesale New York Giants Jerseys, who have lost five straight after falling to the Wholesale Dallas Cowboys Jerseys 37-18 on Monday at MetLife Stadium.

It’s fair to start wondering if this organization has any chance to meet owner John Mara’s preseason mandate. Mara said this summer that he wanted the Giants to “win some games” and “feel at the end of the season we’re moving in the right direction.”

That seems improbable, given the current state of the Giants, who at 2-7 haven’t won since late September. They have the most losses (31) of any team since the start of the 2017 season — more than the Wholesale Cleveland Browns Jerseys, who have an 0-16 campaign during that span.

It has been such an awful stretch that the Giants are somehow 0-6 in games where star running back Saquon Barkley has played from start to finish.

“It’s crazy to say that but, hey, the way I look at it and the way I have an outlook on life is there are going to be better days,” Barkley said. “We are struggling right now and things aren’t going out way, but I’m not going to lose my focus. I’m not going to lose belief in this team, this coaching staff. I’m just going to continue to come to work every single day and I know, I know for 100 percent sure it will turn around,” Barkley said.

The struggles set up perhaps the strangest of key games for coach Pat Shurmur and the Giants when they meet the rival Wholesale New York Jets Jerseys on Sunday. A loss would send the Giants into their bye week with six straight losses and questions about the state of the franchise. It’s hard to imagine how ownership would handle such an embarrassment.

Shurmur and the Giants need a win.

“In the worst way,” captain Mike Thomas said. “For everybody in this organization. Facility, players, coaches, front office. For everybody. We need it and we’re going to find a way to get it.”

Nothing seems to be going right for Shurmur & Co. these days. They were on the short end of some crucial penalties and no-calls late in Monday’s game. Maybe more concerning, the turnovers by rookie quarterback Daniel Jones keep coming. He had three against the Cowboys and has eight interceptions and eight fumbles this season.

Progress from the rookie quarterback was the only thing that could mask the stench from this much Giants losing. Instead, they keep stacking losses, and the Giants are simultaneously missing extra points, failing to score in the red zone (one touchdown in five tries) and allowing too many explosive plays, including the clincher courtesy of an Amari Cooper 45-yard touchdown on third-and-12 midway through the fourth quarter.

Put it all together, and it has the Giants and Shurmur seemingly on the brink of something, whether it be a massive meltdown or a serious overhaul.

QB breakdown: It was another game filled with ups and down for Jones. He finished 26-of-41 passing for 210 yards with a touchdown, interception and two lost fumbles. Jones is now tied for the league lead with 16 turnovers.

The turnovers were costly. Jones threw an interception in the final minute of the first half and fumbled on a third-down run in the third quarter. This is becoming a disturbing trend. The rookie has at least two turnovers in five of his seven starts.

Jones has 16 turnovers this season. That ties him with Tampa Bay’s Jameis Winston, and Jones has started only seven of the Giants’ games.

“Anytime you turn the ball over, it’s costly to the team,” Jones said. “I have to work on that and making sure I’m securing the ball.”

Pivotal play: The Giants trailed by five with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game. It was third-and-6 for Dallas from their own 15-yard line. Quarterback Dak Prescott took a deep shot down the left sideline to Cooper.

There was some normal hand-fighting from Cooper and rookie cornerback DeAndre Baker. A flag was thrown. Shurmur and defensive coordinator James Bettcher by their reactions were visibly furious on the sideline. It was a questionable call, at best. The fans, the broadcast and most everybody in the stadium (aside from the Cowboys) seemed to think it should have been a no-call.

It wasn’t. Instead, Dallas got a first down near midfield and five plays later put the game away with Cooper’s demoralizing touchdown.

“It just seems like they don’t go our way,” Giants safety Jabrill Peppers said. “If you guys remember mine from Tampa Bay, it was really ticky tack, I thought that was going to be the tone for the whole year but there is no real consistency. At the end of the day, you can’t even give them the chance to the throw the flag. You have to stay clean, play with good eyes and technique and make a play on the ball.”

Shurmur added: “I wasn’t [looking at that as a penalty]. But it is what it is.”

He originally declined surgery after suffering a Grade 2 abdominal strain in Week 2 against the Wholesale Atlanta Falcons Jerseys. He missed six games before returning Sunday against the Bears.

The Eagles also released veteran safety Andrew Sendejo on Tuesday, opening up a second spot on the roster.

A wide receiver is expected to be added. One option could be Jordan Matthews, who worked out for the Eagles on Tuesday, a source confirmed.

Matthews, a former second-round pick of the Eagles, has had two separate stints in Philadelphia, including one in 2018. He most recently played for the Wholesale San Francisco 49ers Jerseys, appearing in one game before being released in late October. He has a strong relationship with quarterback Carson Wentz and a deep knowledge of coach Doug Pederson’s system, which would make for an easy acclimation process as the Eagles look to bolster a receiving corps that has struggled to produce in Jackson’s absence.

Jackson, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, was reacquired by the Eagles in an offseason trade with the Wholesale Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jerseys. He has been limited to three games this season, catching nine passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns.

ESPN’s Tim McManus contributed to this report.

BOSTON — Ottawa forward Scott Sabourin is being kept overnight at a hospital after being taken off the ice on a stretcher with his head immobilized following a collision with Boston forward David Backes early in the first period of Saturday night’s 5-2 loss to the Bruins.

Senators coach D.J. Smith said the team would know more about the nature and extent of Sabourin’s injury on Sunday. During the game, the team sent an update on its Twitter feed that Sabourin was conscious and speaking with the attending doctors while leaving the arena.

He gave the crowd a brief “thumbs up” as he was leaving the ice.

NEW YORK — Wholesale Calgary Flames Jerseys forward Milan Lucic has been suspended for two games without pay by the NHL for roughing Wholesale Columbus Blue Jackets Jerseys forward Kole Sherwood during Saturday’s game.

The league announced Lucic’s punishment Sunday.

The incident happened five minutes into the second period of Calgary’s 3-0 win. Lucic punched Sherwood behind the Flames net, knocking him to the ice, after Sherwood had poked at Calgary goaltender David Rittich’s pads and received a slashing minor.

Lucic was assessed two minor penalties for roughing. Sherwood left the game but later returned.

The league said in an explanatory video that Lucic’s history of “recent and similar punches” warranted the suspension. He has been fined once and suspended once for punching other opponents since 2016.

In his first season with Calgary, Lucic has three assists and 30 penalty minutes over 16 games.

Senators right wing Scott Sabourin is attended to after he was injured in a collision with Boston’s David Backes in the first period on Saturday. Sabourin was taken to a hospital for evaluation. Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports
Sabourin had skated up to make a hit on Backes when the players’ helmets collided. Sabourin immediately fell to the ice, appearing to be unconscious, and he lay motionless for a brief period.

Medical staff from both teams rushed to Sabourin, and a Bruins trainer quickly signaled for a stretcher. There was a large blood spot on the ice under Sabourin’s face.

TV cameras showed Backes visibly upset, looking as if he was fighting back tears as he watched medical personnel attend to Sabourin. An Ottawa player could be seen consoling Backes, putting his glove on his shoulder. Most of the players on both teams took knees in front their benches and skated over to Sabourin when he was finally put on the stretcher after a delay that lasted about 10 minutes.

OTTAWA, Ontario — The Wholesale Ottawa Senators Jerseys say forward Scott Sabourin has a fractured nose and is expected to be released from the hospital later Sunday, a day after being taken off the ice on a stretcher during a game in Boston.

Sabourin was taken from the ice with his head immobilized following a collision with David Backes in which the players’ helmets hit at nearly full speed early in the first period of Boston’s 5-2 win on Saturday night.

Sabourin gave the crowd a “thumbs up” as he was taken from the arena.

The 27-year-old Sabourin posted a photo to his Instagram on Sunday morning of him in a hospital bed while smiling with a chipped tooth, a black eye and a few cuts around his face.

“Thanks for all the well wishes. Hope to be back out on the ice in the near future,” Sabourin wrote with the post.

After colliding with Backes, Sabourin fell to the ice and appeared to be unconscious. There was a large blood spot on the ice under his face.

Backes went to the dressing room after Sabourin was taken from the ice, and didn’t return. The Bruins announced that Backes had an upper-body injury. He was visibly upset, fighting back tears, as medical personnel attended to Sabourin.

Sabourin has played in 11 Wholesale NHL Jerseys games, all this season, with one goal and one assist.

Fans gave Sabourin a loud ovation when he was taken from the ice. Backes went to the dressing room after Sabourin was wheeled off.

The Bruins announced in the second period that Backes had an upper-body injury and would not return.

ORLANDO, Fla. — It was a pretty typical performance for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Donte DiVincenzo was a bit of a surprise.

Antetokounmpo had 29 points and 14 rebounds, and the Milwaukee Bucks pounded the Wholesale Orlando Magic Jerseys 123-91 on Friday night.

While the reigning Wholesale NBA Jerseys MVP was great once again, DiVincenzo scored 14 points in his most extensive action so far this season. He played two minutes in the Bucks’ first four games and had not taken a shot.

DiVincenzo went 4 for 7 from 3-point range. He also contributed three assists and two steals in 17 minutes.

“He hasn’t played all season, and one thing I told him was to stay ready,” Antetokounmpo said. “You’re going to get your opportunity, and he was ready tonight.”

Eric Bledsoe added 18 points, six rebounds and six assists for Milwaukee, which was coming off a 116-105 loss at Boston on Wednesday night. Khris Middleton added 16 points and six rebounds.

The Bucks grabbed control by making nine 3-pointers during a key stretch in the first half. They went 17 for 47 from beyond the arc on the night.

Evan Fournier led Orlando with 19 points. Nikola Vucevic had 14 points and seven rebounds.

Brook Lopez, Robin Lopez, Bledsoe, Ersan Ilyasova (two), Sterling Brown, George Hill and DiVincenzo (two) connected from long range during a 32-7 run for the Bucks.

“You could feel things shifting in that first quarter,” DiVincenzo said. “Everybody on our team is so unselfish. We have guys who could get 25 every night, but instead we have a balanced attack and guys getting open looks.”

After making eight of their first nine shots on their way to a 20-7 lead, the Magic were outscored 40-9 over the next 11 minutes, most of it by Milwaukee’s reserves.

“Orlando was doing a lot of things well early, but our bench came in and flipped the script,” said Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer. “We had really good bench play tonight.”

The Bucks led 79-51 after Middleton scored seven straight points midway through the third quarter.

Milwaukee shot 50.5 percent for the game. The Bucks also had a 57-41 rebound advantage and scored 54 points in the paint.

“They were wide open, wide open … wide open. It wasn’t like they made all these great shots, it was wide open,” Magic coach Steve Clifford said. “It was an unacceptable effort against a great team and they played well.”

TIP-INS

Bucks: Seventeen of the Bucks’ first 21 shots were 3-pointers. … G Pat Connaughton left the floor with a shoulder injury in the third quarter, but returned to the game. … Kyle Korver rested. Budenholzer said the Bucks would look for periodic games off for the 38-year-old guard.

Magic: F Amile Jefferson, who had been on a two-way contract with Orlando, signed a standard contract Friday. … C Mo Bamba (load management) and G Michael Carter-Williams (bruised hip) were out.

NO MAGIC TOUCH

The Magic came into the game last in the NBA in scoring (95.8 points per game) and shooting (.395) and second-last in 3-point shooting (.288). They didn’t do anything to help themselves, shooting 37.4 percent and scoring under 100 points for the fifth straight time.

LOS ANGELES — Anthony Davis is four games into his first season with the Wholesale Los Angeles Lakers Jerseys , and he’s already in good company.

Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, George Mikan, Shaquille O’Neal — and now AD.

Davis had the fourth 40-point, 20-rebound game of his seven-year career and set a franchise record with 26 made free throws as the Lakers rallied in the second half for a convincing 120-91 victory over the Wholesale Memphis Grizzlies Jerseys on Tuesday night.

He joined those Laker greats as LA players to get 40 points and 20 rebounds.

“It’s an honor to be on that list with those legends but more important is we got the win,” said Davis, who was 26 of 27 from the line. “It was a grind in the first half and my teammates trusted me. I just tried to be a monster on the glass.”

It is Davis’ first 40-20 game since 2016. He’s the first Laker to do it since O’Neal in 2003.

Davis played only 31 minutes. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is the first player to have a 40-20 game in 31 minutes or less since 1954-55. Prior to Davis, the quickest 40-20 game was 33 minutes by Baylor in 1961.

Davis is also the fourth player in league history and first since Michael Jordan in 1987 to make 26 or more free throws.

“This solidifies why we went out and got him. He was big time for us,” said LeBron James, who scored 23 points for the Lakers. Los Angeles is off to its first 3-1 start since winning its first eight in 2010.

Davis was questionable two hours before the game due to a right shoulder injury suffered in Sunday’s win over Charlotte. He did some dribbling and shooting on the court before being cleared.

Davis had 16 points and nine rebounds in the first quarter but went back to the locker room at the start of the second to get the shoulder checked and re-taped. Coach Frank Vogel thought he might have to go the rest of the game without Davis until he saw him come back to the bench.

“He gutted it out playing in some pain and was dominant. They didn’t have an answer and he was terrific,” Vogel said.

Los Angeles trailed for most of the first half but took a 49-47 lead into the locker room at halftime when Davis grabbed a rebound, drove down the court and tipped in his own miss at the buzzer.

The Grizzlies (1-3) led 65-59 with seven minutes remaining in the third quarter when the Lakers went on a 27-2 run to close out the quarter. Davis scored 16 points during the rally, with all but two coming at the line. The final 10 Lakers’ points in the quarter came via Davis’ free throws.

“Everyone was playing well,” Davis said. “I was just trying to be aggressive. It was a close game until the third quarter. I knew some of their players were in foul trouble and tried to get them out of the game. ”

Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins agreed with Davis’ sentiment, saying “I thought he was super aggressive, and you are rewarded when you are aggressive.”

Davis said his shoulder was still sore after the game, but he thinks it will improve since the Lakers have a couple days off.

Memphis raced to a 15-2 lead before Los Angeles started to work its way back. Ja Morant led the Grizzlies with 16 points, and Jonas Valanciunas added 14 points and 11 boards.

Morant, who was the second pick in the June draft, had only three points in the first half before finding his groove in the second.

“Coming into an environment like this we have to play all four quarters,” Morant said. “It was wow moment coming in (facing James and Davis) but I was still trying to go out and play my game.”

TIP-INS

Grizzlies: Memphis finished 22 of 23 from the line but was 7 of 34 on 3-pointers. … Grayson Allen came off the bench to score 13 points. … Dillon Brooks’ four-point play early in the first quarter was the third of his career. That ties him with Shane Battier and Troy Daniels for second in franchise history behind Mike Conley’s seven.

Lakers: Avery Bradley had 12 points and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 11, with all but one coming in the fourth quarter. … Los Angeles finished 33 of 39 on free throws.

PHILADELPHIA — Joe Girardi hit a grand slam after putting on the red pinstripes for the first time.

Girardi was charming, engaging and entertaining in his introductory news conference as the 55th manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. Already popular among fans, Girardi said all the right things Monday.

Wholesale Houston Astros Jerseys fans, who saw their team suffer the biggest World Series upset in 29 years, have something to look forward to: The Astros, for now, are the favorites to win next year’s World Series.

Houston fell to the Wholesale Washington Nationals Jerseys 6-2 in Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday night. The Nationals were nearly 2-1 underdogs to the Astros in the series, making their victory the largest World Series upset since the Wholesale Cincinnati Reds Jerseys took down the Wholesale Oakland Athletics Jerseys as +260 underdogs in 1990.

At 4-1, the Astros are the favorites at Caesars Sportsbook to win the 2020 World Series, followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees, who are each 5-1. The Wholesale Boston Red Sox Jerseys and Wholesale Atlanta Braves Jerseys are each 10-1.

The Nationals, who captured the franchise’s first World Series, are 14-1 to win next year’s title, along with the Wholesale Cleveland Indians Jerseys and Wholesale Chicago Cubs Jerseys.

Multiple impactful free agents could be on the move and shift the 2020 World Series odds this offseason, including Houston ace Gerrit Cole and Washington starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg and third baseman Anthony Rendon.

Cole, 29, went 20-5 during the regular season with 326 strikeouts. The right-hander struck out nine in a stellar seven-inning performance in Game 5 of the World Series in what might have been his final start with the Astros.

Strasburg went 8⅓ innings and struck out seven in Game 6; Rendon hit a home run in Game 6 and another in Game 7.

Washington was expected to be a contender to begin the season but got off to a disappointing start; in June, the Nationals saw their World Series odds drift to 50-1 at some sportsbooks. They took off after the All-Star break, upset the Dodgers in the National League Division Series and swept the Wholesale St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys to advance to the franchise’s first World Series.

The Wholesale Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys enter the offseason at 16-1 to win next year’s World Series, followed by the Wholesale Milwaukee Brewers Jerseys at 18-1 and the Cardinals at 20-1. The Wholesale New York Mets Jerseys are 22-1, and the Wholesale Minnesota Twins Jerseys, Athletics and Wholesale Tampa Bay Rays Jerseysare each 30-1 at Caesars Sportsbook.

The Wholesale Baltimore Orioles Jerseys, Wholesale Detroit Tigers Jerseys, Wholesale Miami Marlins Jerseys and Wholesale Kansas City Royals Jerseys have the longest odds in 2020 at 1,000-1.

“It means a lot to me that the fans are behind me,” Girardi said. “I’m well aware of the passion for the great game of Wholesale Baseball Jerseys here. I’ve lived it as a player and as a manager. I know the importance of winning here. I had a chance to compete against a great team with Charlie Manuel here in 2009, and it was a great place to come watch a game. The passionate fans of the Phillies were great — they were not easy to play against — and I want it to be that way for many years to come.”

Girardi brings an impressive résumé to Philadelphia. He managed the Wholesale New York Yankees Jerseys for 10 years, succeeding Joe Torre after the 2007 season. He led New York to its 27th World Series title, beating the Phillies in six games in 2009.

He also managed the Marlins for one season and was National League Manager of the Year after going 78-84 in 2006, the only manager to win the award with a losing record.

Girardi’s record with the Yankees was 910-710, the sixth-most wins by a manager in team history. Girardi won at least 84 games each season in New York and had four years with 95 or more, including 103 in 2009. He led the Yankees to three American League East titles and six postseason appearances.

“Having had 10 years in a big market in New York like Joe did with a World Series and six playoff appearances, his résumé really speaks for itself,” general manager Matt Klentak said. “But beyond that I can tell you that when we talk to people about Joe, people that he’s known in his career, people that he’s worked with, the players that have played for him, to a man or a person, every one of them would begin that conversation talking about what a good person Joe is and then at the end of that conversation they would conclude with: ‘Don’t forget that he’s an incredible person.’ I think when you’re making a hire like this, it’s a pretty good move to bet on a quality individual, and I really think we’re getting one of the best.”

Girardi’s wife, son and two daughters joined him at the news conference. He name-dropped several former Phillies and told a few stories, including one about asking former Phillies slugger Ryan Howard for an autograph for his son when Girardi was manager of the Marlins. Girardi made his major league debut as a player for the Cubs against the Phillies in 1989 and played his first road game in Philadelphia at old Veterans Stadium.

The 55-year-old Girardi had a .267 batting average and 1,100 hits with a .991 career fielding percentage as a catcher in 15 big league seasons. He won three World Series titles playing for the Yankees and was an All-Star with the Cubs in 2000.

“One way to establish respect, obviously, is your credibility, your track record,” Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins said. “He has one of the best out there, and we’re excited to be a part of that.”

The Phillies haven’t had a winning season since 2011 when they finished a run of five straight NL East titles, two pennants and one World Series championship under Manuel.

“I’m selfish. I want to win,” Girardi said. “We need to do whatever it takes to win.”

Girardi was nicknamed “Binder Joe” in New York for his use of analytics. Former Phillies manager Gabe Kapler was criticized for relying on analytics too much.

“Numbers tell a story over time,” Girardi said. “I am an analytical guy who has an engineering degree. I love math, and they can never give me too much information. It’s a tool we can use to evaluate players in so many different ways. In reality, our job is to bring the best out in players, and whatever tool we have to help us, I want it.”

The Wholesale Pittsburgh Penguins Jerseys have activated forward Alex Galchenyuk and defenseman Brian Dumoulin.

Galchenyuk was acquired from the Wholesale Arizona Coyotes Jerseys in the Phil Kessel trade this offseason but was limited in the preseason with an undisclosed injury. He was put on IR on Oct. 9.

The Wholesale Boston Bruins Jerseys have activated David Krejci from injured reserve.

The 33-year-old forward has been sidelined with an upper-body injury since Oct. 14.

Three-time Stanley Cup champion Brent Seabrook will be a healthy scratch for the second straight game, and theWholesale Chicago Blackhawks Jerseys alternate captain isn’t happy about it.

“I think I’ve been playing good,” Seabrook told reporters Tuesday from Nashville. “I’ve obviously been on for some goals against. Tough situation, but I feel like I’m skating better. I feel like I’ve got a lot to offer this team.”

Seabrook, 34, was scratched for Sunday’s game against the Kings, a much-needed 5-1 win that snapped a four-game winless streak. He’ll now sit against the Predators. Before this week, Seabrook had been a healthy scratch only one other time in his career — in January 2018 by then-coach Joel Quenneville.

“I don’t think I need rest,” Seabrook said Tuesday. “I think I feel great. I’m 34. You guys seem to want to write articles about my age and my speed. I feel like I still got a lot to offer in this league and still be a good player for somebody.”

Blame for the fall of the once-mighty Blackhawks has often coalesced around Seabrook. The league has gotten faster and he’s gotten a little slower. And he still gets paid like a star, carrying the third-highest salary cap hit on the team. He’s in the fourth year of an eight-year deal at $6.875 million per season that has a full no-movement clause for this season and then two more. This season, Seabrook has the worst Corsi For Percentage on the team at 43.9.

It all adds up to Seabrook being virtually untradable. Not that everyone wants to see him go, however. Teammates routinely call him the heart and soul of the teams that won Cups in 2010, ’13 and ’15 and even today as the Blackhawks rebuild on the fly.

That fact that Seabrook added that he could be a good player “for somebody,” however, speaks to a new level of frustration for the blueliner.

Coach Jeremy Colliton said that veteran players can use some rest once in a while and emphasized that Seabrook can still help the team. He vowed to keep the lines of communication open. But Seabrook said there hasn’t been extensive conversation.

“There is no conversation, he just told me,” Seabrook said. “That’s it.”

Seabrook wasn’t the only Blackhawks stalwart taking a backseat Tuesday. Goalie Corey Crawford sat for the fourth time in five games, with Robin Lehner getting the call in net.

He has one assist in five games for the Bruins, who are second in the Atlantic Division, two points behind the Wholesale Buffalo Sabres Jerseys.

Dumoulin has been dealing with a lower-body injury. He has three assists in eight games.

The Penguins enter Tuesday’s game against the Flyers (ESPN+) in fourth place in the Metro Division.

NEW ORLEANS — In the first three games of the season for the Wholesale New Orleans Pelicans Jerseys, the team was scrappy and competitive despite missing No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson. Even without Jrue Holiday in Saturday night’s game against the Houston Rockets, the Pelicans were still in the game in the final seconds.

That wasn’t the case Monday night.

The Golden State Warriors, fresh off losing their first two games by a combined 47 points, came into the Smoothie King Center and led wire-to-wire with a 134-123 win to drop the Pelicans to 0-4.

The final score was also not indicative of how the Pelicans played, and New Orleans coach Alvin Gentry doesn’t want anyone to think anything different.

“I just thought tonight, you look at the game and you look at the score and you think, ‘Oh, it ended up being an 11 point game.’ We were never in the game,” Gentry said. “We never had any chance at all to win, and I think that’s the most disturbing thing to me, especially playing at home.”

HOUSTON — Russell Westbrook, dressed in shiny black pants and a sleeveless NASCAR T-shirt, stopped by the visitors locker room on the way out of the Toyota Center on Monday night.

Westbrook chatted with former teammates such as Steven Adams and Andre Roberson, as well as some staffers he knew well from his 11 seasons with the Wholesale Oklahoma City Thunder Jerseys. He also made small talk with Chris Paul, the point guard traded along with a package of first-round picks for Westbrook this summer. Paul cracked that Westbrook had better be careful walking into his old team’s locker room, mentioning that the league office disciplined him for doing the same thing, a reference to the heated postgame confrontation between the Wholesale Houston Rockets Jerseys and Wholesale LA Clippers Jerseys during Paul’s return to Staples Center a couple of seasons ago.

Westbrook smiled and laughed throughout the visit, quite a contrast to the sneer featured on his face during his 21-point, 12-rebound, 9-assist performance in Houston’s 116-112 victory over the Thunder.

“This is how it goes: When I hoop, I have no friends,” Westbrook said. “On the court, they know not to talk to me. Steven is a real close friend of mine, but inside those lines, there’s no friends. Spalding, that’s my friend, and my teammates, but that’s it. Before the game, after the game, I’ll talk to my guys. That doesn’t mean I don’t have friends, but during the game, I don’t. If you try to talk to me, I ain’t going to say s— to you.”

After a slow start, Westbrook’s game spoke volumes Monday night.

Westbrook went scoreless in the first quarter, missing all five shots from the floor, including a layup that didn’t even hit the rim after a wild drive on the opening possession. Houston trailed by 13 at the end of the quarter, prompting Westbrook to address the Rockets after the game about making sure they play with energy from the opening tip.

“It’s up to me to be able to make sure my guys are ready to go and not just ready but competing and playing hard,” said Westbrook, who finished 9-of-16 from the floor and had a game-best plus-minus of plus-19. “Because playing hard is not an option. For me, it’s something that we’ve got to take pride in. To be able to get to that elite level, we’ve got to do that every night.”

The Rockets didn’t really pick it up until the third quarter, when they outscored the Thunder by a 39-18 margin to roar back from a 10-point deficit. Westbrook had six points, three rebounds and four assists during the quarter, when he also picked up a technical foul for taunting rookie Darius Bazley.

Westbrook’s fingerprints were also all over the final minutes. He threw down a ferocious tomahawk dunk on a fast break and swished a midrange pull-up jumper — “a cotton shot,” as he calls it — on consecutive possessions to give the Rockets a six-point lead with 3 minutes remaining. But Westbrook’s most memorable play of the night was when he chased down the rebound of James Harden’s missed 3-pointer, penetrated into the teeth of the defense and kicked it out to PJ Tucker for a wide-open corner 3 that was a dagger with 54.8 seconds remaining.

“That’s game-winning plays right there,” said Harden, who had a game-high 40 points, doing much of his damage on free throws (21-of-22). “That’s what you need. He’s a superstar, but he’s getting offensive rebounds, he’s hustling, he’s doing the dirty things to help you win. It feels good to have that on your side.”

Paul, whose Rockets tenure will be best remembered by the hamstring strain that sidelined him for Games 6 and 7 of Houston’s 2018 Western Conference finals loss to the Wholesale Golden State Warriors Jerseys, was given a warm reception in his return to the Toyota Center. The late-arriving crowd cheered Paul when he was introduced with the Thunder’s starters and gave him a brief standing ovation following a tribute video that played during the first timeout of the game.

“Extremely grateful. The fans here were always great to me and my family,” said Paul, who had 15 points, four assists and six turnovers in the loss. “The staff … some of the people here became like family to me, and I try to stay in touch with those who were as genuine as could be.”

Paul mentioned that he still talks to former Houston teammates Tucker and Gary Clark almost every day, coyly adding that he hopes that won’t get them in trouble. He didn’t mention Harden, with whom Paul had some friction last season, during his postgame interview session but was complimentary of Westbrook.

“Russ brings a different dynamic to them with his aggressiveness,” Paul said. “He got guys open shots. I think that’s what Russ does well. He gets guys involved.”

Golden State led by as many as 29 points with 5:07 to play, but New Orleans’ backups finished the game on a 24-6 run.

Gentry said he felt the team gave themselves an opportunity to win in the first three games but couldn’t contain the Wholesale Basketball Jerseys against Golden State, and it showed in the result.

“First three games, I thought we played well and gave ourselves an opportunity to win,” Gentry said. “We talk all along about establishing some kind of home-court advantage, which is very important in making it difficult to come in here and win. If we’re going to say we’re not going to bow down, then we’re going to have to do a lot better than that from the standpoint of the way we compete when teams come in here.”

Along with missing Williamson and Holiday, the Pelicans were also without center Derrick Favors, who wasn’t available because of right knee soreness.

Without Favors in the lineup, the Pelicans struggled on the glass. New Orleans hadn’t been out-rebounded by more than four in its first 3 games, but the Pelicans were out-rebounded 61-41 against the Warriors.

Golden State also flexed their muscle on the offensive glass with 19 offensive rebounds, which led to 30 second-chance points.

“That’s not really something that they’re known for. They struggle in that department the last five years, really,” Gentry said. “That was something that was glaring.”

Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram, who finished with a game-high 27 points and led New Orleans with 10 rebounds, pointed to the defensive rebounding as an issue the team needs to clear up.

“Just getting it off the glass, trying to get into offense fast, trying to not let the other team have second chance points, that’s been hurting us a little bit, but we’ve just got to stay together,” Ingram said. “As a new group, we continue to get better and try not to take any steps backwards.”

Ingram also wouldn’t get discouraged about his team’s winless start.

“We have enough guys in here where we feel like we can win basketball games,” Ingram said. “I think we just got down a little bit when we weren’t making shots. It affected our energy a little bit. We have the guys in this room that we need, so we won’t get discouraged at all.”

CHICAGO — Wholesale Chicago Bears Jerseys coach Matt Nagy passionately defended his decision to forgo running another play and have quarterback Mitchell Trubisky take a knee on first down with 43 seconds left to set up a 41-yard field goal by Eddy Pineiro that sailed wide left as time expired.

“Yeah, I’m not even going to get into that,” Nagy said following the Bears’ 17-16 loss to the Wholesale Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys. “I have zero thought of running the ball and taking the chance of fumbling the football. They know you’re running the football, so you lose three, four yards, so that wasn’t even in our process as coaches to think about that.

INDIANAPOLIS — Kicker Adam Vinatieri, the Wholesale NFL Jerseys all-time leading scorer, went from looking like he was about to cost the Wholesale Indianapolis Colts Jerseys another game to being the hero for them.

Vinatieri, who missed a field goal and extra point earlier in the game, made a 51-yard field goal with 22 seconds remaining their 15-13 victory over the Wholesale Denver Broncos Jerseys on Sunday. Vinatieri has made 29 game-winning kicks during his 24-year NFL career. The 51 yarder tied for the third-longest game-winning kick of Vinatieri’s career.

“We all knew it was going in,” Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton said. “He’s made countless kicks like that throughout his career. That’s why he’s the G.O.A.T.”

The Colts (5-2), who lost quarterback Andrew Luck to retirement two weeks before the start of the regular season, are on a three-game winning streak and are 14-3 in their past 17 regular-season games going back to last season.

There was no guarantee Vinatieri was going to have a chance to redeem himself after the Colts started the winning drive at their own 11-yard line with less than two minutes remaining in the game. They got a 35-yard completion from quarterback Jacoby Brissett to Hilton where Brissett broke free from the grasp of Denver pass rusher Von Miller at the 1-yard line before escaping to find Hilton along the sideline.

“There’s maybe a couple of quarterbacks in the league that can make that play, we have one of them,” Colts coach Frank Reich said. “That’s twofold. Get away from Von Miller in the end zone and then the throw, on the run to the right, getting it that far down the field inbounds to T.Y.”

After a 15-yard horse-collar penalty by Broncos linebacker Alexander Johnson on running back Nyheim Hines helped the Colts them get into field goal range, Reich showed his faith in Vinatieri when he called back-to-back running plays to ensure they were in the middle of the field for the future Hall of Famer to make the kick.

“Had all the confidence Adam was going to make it,” Reich said. “We threw it on first down, called a naked (bootleg) and they covered it up pretty well. I thought we could sneak one in there and get some big yards. Once we didn’t get that, I wasn’t going to take a chance on a sack or holding penalty that would put us out of field goal range. Run it twice and let Adam win the game.”

Questions about Vinatieri’s future with the Colts would have been raised had he missed the 51-yard attempt. Vinatieri missed a 45-yard field goal attempt where he had to rush the kick because Denver brought pressure right up the middle on the Colts’ opening drive of the game and then missed an extra point that would have tied the game at 13-13 late in the third quarter. He made a 55-yard field goal, which tied for the second longest of his career, in the first half.

“Missing two kicks, I’m not happy about,” Vinatieri said. “I’m pretty happy about a 50-plus game winner, a 55, so it wasn’t a complete catastrophe. But I expect to make every kick every time I step on the field. I like to have every one of them, but as long as we win, that’s the most important thing.”

Sunday’s struggles added on to a season of inconsistency for the 46-year-old Vinatieri.

He missed three kicks against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1. Vinatieri immediately took complete blame for the loss to the Chargers after the game. Vinatieri then missed two more extra points in Week 2 against the Wholesale Tennessee Titans Jerseys to bring his total of missed kicks inside of the 35-yard line over a five-game span up to seven.

Vinatieri said later that week he was working to the “demons” out so that he could clear his head. Colts general manager Chris Ballard worked out six kickers as potential replacements for Vinatieri that same week.

Vinatieri has missed a career-high four extra points this season. Two of those missed extra points would have tied the game. The rest of the league went into Sunday with a combined four misses, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

Reich said the overall success Vinatieri has had in his career is why he’s had no problem sticking with him as their kicker.

“It’s 100 percent his track record, it’s 100 percent talking to him every day,” Reich said. “You know I am not just looking at the numbers, or evaluating the times and the kicks, how far he missed here or there, you look a guy in the eye and you know that this is the greatest kicker of all time, and I see every day what he does in practice, and our team has so much belief and confidence in him, I was real happy for him (Sunday), obviously, although he’s done this quite a few times, but good for him and good for us that he is on our team.”

I’ll just be brutally clear: Zero thought of throwing the Wholesale Football Jerseys, zero thought of running the football. You understand me? That’s exactly what it was. It’s as simple as that.”

After squandering a fourth-quarter lead — thanks largely to a pair of Trubisky turnovers — the Bears’ offense managed to move the ball with under a minute left to play as they reached Los Angeles’ 21-yard line after Trubisky scrambled for 11 yards.

Trubisky said he didn’t think twice when Nagy called for the kneel down with so much time left on the clock.

“No, not surprised. … I mean, it’s coach’s call,” Trubisky said. “He knows what’s best for this team. Whatever he calls, that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to stick behind it. And we know — I felt like if we crossed the 40, no matter where the ball was at, that Eddy was going to be able to put it through, so we’ve just got to have that faith, and you can question it all you want, but whatever he calls, that’s what we’re going to do, and we’re going to believe in it.”

Pineiro entered Week 8 as one of Chicago’s most consistent offensive weapons. The 24-year old kicker had missed just one field goal all year prior to facing Los Angeles. On Sunday, Pineiro went 3-for-5, including a misfire from 33 yards that bounced off the right upright.

“I really like where we’re at with Eddy,” Nagy said. “I have ultimate faith in him. I do. It just happens to be in our situation, it just gets completely magnified because of where we’ve been before. But I have ultimate trust in him. He’s going to be the one that wants another opportunity at that shot, at that kick. So that’s all we can do is next time he gets that chance, he puts it right down the middle.”

Pineiro won the Bears’ highly-publicized offseason kicker competition to replace Cody Parker, who missed seven regular-season field goals in 2018 and the infamous double doink from 43 yards with no time left in Chicago’s playoff loss to the Eagles.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump says he is planning to attend the World Series on Sunday if it goes to a fifth game.

The president confirmed his plans Thursday while presenting the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Roger Penske, a businessman and founder of one of the world’s most successful motorsports teams.

The Wholesale Washington Nationals Jerseys and the Wholesale Houston Astros Jerseys are playing, with the fifth game scheduled for Sunday in Washington. The Nationals lead the series 2-0 and could conceivably win it before Sunday’s game.

Trump played high school Wholesale Baseball Jerseys at the New York Military Academy and has thrown out the ceremonial first pitch at major league games. Asked if he would do so again this weekend, he joked that he would have to dress up with a lot of heavy armor and would look too heavy. “I don’t like that,” he said.

The president is a Wholesale New York Yankees Jerseys fan who would often attend their games and sit in the owners’ suite or near the dugout. He welcomed the Astros to the White House last year after they won the 2017 World Series and said their victory was even more special following the devastation Hurricane Harvey wrought on the Texas city.

Washington Nationals pitcher Anibal Sanchez said people should “respect that situation” if the president wants to attend the game.

“He’s the president, and if he wants to come, why not?” Sanchez said.

Bill James, the famed statistician who’s been an adviser and consultant for the Wholesale Boston Red Sox Jerseys since 2002, announced Thursday that he’s leaving the organization.

“I leave the Red Sox on the best possible terms,” the 70-year-old James wrote on his website. “I am still friendly with everyone that I have worked with there, from the owners to the security guards. I still intend to … watch every Red Sox game. Well, maybe not EVERY game; retirement means I don’t have to stay up to watch them play a four-hour game in Seattle ending at 1:30. In exchange for that, next time we win the World Series, I won’t get a ring.”

James was a pioneer of baseball analytics, gaining fame with his annual “Baseball Abstract” from 1977 through 1987, and then “The Bill James Handbook,” which projects statistics for every major league player each year.

He joined the Red Sox as their senior baseball operations adviser in November 2002. Two years later, they won their first World Series since 1918. The Red Sox went on to win three more titles with James on staff.

A consultant in recent years, the club described his position as working “with senior management and the baseball operations department to provide research and analysis of special projects, and on-going concerns.”

In his statement, James said he’s just retiring from the Red Sox and not baseball projects overall.

“I have two books written that I need to get published; I have more books that I am writing and more books that I want to write,” James wrote on his website. “The annual Handbook will be out in a week or so. I have a TV project in the works; I have big dreams. I’m going to get a dog, and a bicycle, and my wife and I will travel, as we always have. … To the Red Sox: it’s been a blast. Thank you all.”

Trump would be the first sitting president to attend a World Series game since George W. Bush threw out the ceremonial first pitch at New York’s Yankee Stadium before Game 3 in 2001. As the former controlling owner of the Wholesale Texas Rangers Jerseys, Bush knew several of the players involved.

Other presidents who attended World Series game were Woodrow Wilson (1915), Calvin Coolidge (1924), Herbert Hoover (1929, 1930, 1931), Franklin Roosevelt (1933, 1936), Dwight Eisenhower (1956), Jimmy Carter (1979) and Ronald Reagan (1983).

The Wholesale Houston Astros Jerseys fired assistant general manager Brandon Taubman on Thursday, admitting in a statement that his “inappropriate comments” about the acquisition of closer Roberto Osuna were directed at a group of female reporters.

A report published earlier this week by Sports Illustrated’s Stephanie Apstein said that during the celebration in the Astros clubhouse after clinching the American League Championship Series on Saturday, Taubman turned to a group of female reporters — including one wearing a purple domestic violence awareness bracelet — and repeatedly yelled, “Thank God we got Osuna! I’m so f—ing glad we got Osuna!”

Wholesale Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys executive Chaim Bloom is the favorite to become the next general manager of the Wholesale Boston Red Sox Jerseys, a source tells ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Bloom, 36, is the Rays’ senior vice president of baseball operations. He has spent 15 years with the team in capacities including minor league operations, player development, contract negotiations, salary arbitration and international scouting.

He has operated in a front office unlike Boston’s in that the Rays have a low budget and remain competitive. This season, they had the lowest payroll on opening day at $49.08 million, and the Red Sox had the highest at $187.23 million.

The Red Sox fired Dave Dombrowski, their president of baseball operations, in September, less than a year after winning the 2018 World Series. Boston failed to make the playoffs this season, finishing 84-78, 19 games behind the American League East champion Yankees.

Late in September, Red Sox owners John Henry and Tom Werner said at a news conference that they intended to make major cuts to the payroll to get under the luxury tax threshold next season, saying they fired Dombrowski because of differing opinions on how to build for the future.

It’s a crucial offseason for the Red Sox, who need to decide what to do about 2018 MVP Mookie Betts, who will be a free agent after next season, and J.D Martinez, who can opt out of his $23.75 million deal five days after the World Series, as well as other players on expiring contracts.

Bloom is a Wholesale Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys native and attended Yale University, graduating in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in classics.

Last season, Osuna served a 75-game suspension for violating Major League Wholesale Baseball Jerseys domestic violence policy, stemming from an incident that happened while he was a member of the Wholesale Toronto Blue Jays Jerseys.

“Our initial investigation led us to believe that Brandon Taubman’s inappropriate comments were not directed toward any reporter,” the Astros said in Thursday’s statement. “We were wrong. We sincerely apologize to Stephanie Apstein, Sports Illustrated and to all individuals who witnessed this incident or were offended by the inappropriate conduct. The Astros in no way intended to minimize the issues related to domestic violence.

SI writer recalls ‘startling’ Osuna comments from Astros assistant GMSI’s Stephanie Apstein joins Outside the Lines to shed light on Astros assistant GM Brandon Taubman’s Roberto Osuna comments in the team’s clubhouse after Game 6 of the ALCS.
“Our initial belief was based on witness statements about the incident. Subsequent interviews have revealed that Taubman’s inappropriate comments were, in fact, directed toward one or more reporters. Accordingly we have terminated Brandon Taubman’s employment with the Houston Astros. His conduct does not reflect the values of our organization and we believe this is the most appropriate course of action.

“We are thankful to Major League Baseball and to everyone that cooperated in the investigation. As previously stated, the Astros are very committed to using our voice to create awareness and support on the issue of domestic violence. We fully support Wholesale MLB Jerseys and baseball’s stance and values regarding domestic violence. We will continue to make this cause a priority for our organization.”

The Astros initially called the report “misleading and completely irresponsible” and accused SI of trying to “fabricate a story where one does not exist.” Taubman later apologized for his language but said his comments were misinterpreted. Astros manager AJ Hinch told reporters Tuesday that the incident was “unfortunate” and “uncalled for.”

ESPN baseball insider Jeff Passan explains what’s really going on in Houston and how this incident reveals much bigger truths about the Astros’ culture. Listen now!

Talking to reporters in Washington Thursday, on an off day for the World Series that Houston trails 2-0, Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said, “That original reaction by the Astros was wrong, and we own it as an organization. There were many people involved in reviewing that and approving that, and I’m not gonna get into the details of that. It was wrong; it was the Astros’ decision. And that’s where I’m gonna leave that.”

Pressed by reporters on who wrote the statement, Luhnow said, “It was an organizational statement; there was nobody’s name on it; there were a lot of people involved in reviewing it, looking at it, approving it; and it was on behalf of the Astros. But regardless of who wrote it and who approved it, it was wrong; it was incorrect; it should never have been sent out. We’ve learned a lesson about it.”

Later Luhnow acknowledged that he had seen the statement. “I saw it before it went out, and there’s a lot of people that saw it before it went out,” he said. “So in that respect, yes, I did.”

Luhnow spoke with the media for around 20 minutes in a session that was at time contentious. At one point, Luhnow was asked if he had reached out directly to any of the reporters involved in the incident and whether he felt like the events might set back the acceptance female sports journalists have earned over the years.

“I can’t answer that second question. There’s a lot of really talented female journalists in baseball and other sports and journalism in general, and I hope that continues. There’s no reason to think that this is a setback, I hope.

“I have not (reached out). I’ve been traveling up here. I had to have a pretty tough conversation this morning with someone that’s worked with me for a long time. But I will, as soon as I can.”

Luhnow was also asked if there might be further disciplinary actions taken related to the events.

“The person that was responsible for making those inappropriate comments has been terminated from employment with the Astros,” Luhnow said. “And that’s the action that we’ve taken at this point. I don’t know what’s gonna happen in the future.”

According to the team’s statement, Houston assisted in interviewing Astros employees as part of MLB’s investigation into the incident. On Wednesday, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said he was “really concerned” about the allegations.

Luhnow told reporters that the Astros’ initial response was, in retrospect, premature, as the club did not have a chance to conduct a formal investigation into the allegations outlined in the report.

“I think when a story comes out that’s negative, you have two choices: You either respond immediately if you think it’s potentially not true, or you wait and figure out what the facts are and then respond.

“And we made the wrong decision. We responded quickly, thinking that it was not true. And it turned out that was an incorrect way to go about it.”

SAN FRANCISCO — After saying during a recent interview that it was “unlikely” Klay Thompson would return this season as he continues to recover from a torn left ACL, Wholesale Golden State Warriors Jerseys coach Steve Kerr acknowledged there’s still a chance the All-Star swingman could return to action this season.

“My comment was very matter of fact,” Kerr told reporters Tuesday. “It’s just ACLs, generally they take nine to 12 months. So nine months takes us right to the end of the season. So I wasn’t announcing anything; he’s doing great in his rehab. It’s still possible that he could play — but I forgot with modern media that ‘unlikely’ is going to become a [story] on the ticker, ‘out for the year’ and all that stuff, so probably my mistake for opening my mouth. Not the first time I’ve gotten myself in trouble for doing that. But it’s an ACL so if you just do your research with the history of ACLs he had surgery July 2nd, get a calculator, do the math.”

In a recent interview with NBC Sports Bay Area that aired Tuesday, Kerr said that “realistically” Thompson, who tore his ACL in Game 6 of last season’s NBA Finals, would miss the entire season. After the comment created headlines throughout the league, Kerr walked back that statement, leaving open the possibility that Thompson could still come back this season.

“He’s doing great,” Kerr said. “The rehab’s going great. He’s getting shots up now, he’s doing good but again an ACL, so just being realistic.”

Thompson, who has been around the team throughout most of training camp, took shots with his teammates after Tuesday’s practice. When reporters walked in and cameras started filming Thompson putting up shots, the veteran swingman looked frustrated as he realized all the focus was on his rehab.

“Klay’s bored more than anything,” Kerr said. “He’s bored. He wants to play. He loves Wholesale Basketball Jerseys so much. The good thing is he’s starting to shoot as you see out here. He’s starting to do more things, but we’ve had internal discussions, several of them in recent weeks, and we all understand the circumstances. Again, I probably opened up a can of worms yesterday with that comment … but it’s really not news. It’s more reality. We’ll leave the door open and we’ll see what happens at the end of the year, but Klay’s doing great.”

Warriors general manager Bob Myers initially said during media day last month that Thompson would be out until at least the All-Star break, at which point an update on his status would be given.

Most Games Played Since 2011-12

The Warriors’ Klay Thompson has played the most games of any NBA player, including playoffs, since entering the league in 2011-12.

TORONTO — It was a gray and gloomy morning in Toronto on Tuesday, with rain showering the city off and on throughout the day. But as the afternoon hit, the sun started to shine — almost as brightly as the Raptors’ new championship rings.

Prior to tipoff of Toronto’s 130-122 overtime victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, the Wholesale Toronto Raptors Jerseys presented their players and coaches with their championship rings and unveiled the 2019 NBA champions banner in the rafters of Scotiabank Arena.

Here are some of the features of what the team called the “largest Wholesale NBA Jerseys championship ring” ever produced:

A 1.25-carat diamond atop the Larry O’Brien Trophy, the largest single diamond in any professional sports ring

The front of the ring depicts the Toronto skyline and Scotiabank Arena, along with the team’s chevron logo

The 74 diamonds in and around the Toronto skyline represent the team’s 74 wins in the regular season and playoffs

Above the arena on the front of the ring are six round diamonds representing “The Six,” which rapper and Raptors global ambassador Drake popularized as another reference for the city of Toronto

16 rubies and the 16 jersey numbers of the players on the championship roster encircle the ring

Inside the ring, the championship logo is engraved above the Raptors’ postseason series records and a ruby is set inside a maple leaf representing Canada

One side of the ring features the player’s name and number

The opposite side features “World Champions 2019″ above the Raptors’ logo

In total, the ring boasts 14 carats’ worth of diamonds and more than 650 total diamonds; both are the most ever in any professional championship ring.

In his postgame news conference, Raptors coach Nick Nurse joked that the rings were even bigger than he imagined.

“You see ‘em,” Nurse exclaimed following his team’s win.

Peter Kanis, president of Baron Championship Rings, said his company started preparing concepts for rings before the Finals ended but got a boost in the process after talking with Raptors guard Kyle Lowry.

“He became a very important person in the transition to the masterpiece we have today,” Kanis told reporters at halftime of Tuesday’s game.

Drake and superfan Nav Bhatia also received rings, the team confirmed. Drake also commissioned Jason of Beverly Hills to make him a separate ring, which has over 30 carats of diamonds.

The banner — which hangs near the spot where Kawhi Leonard’s bouncing shot sent the Raptors to the Eastern Conference finals — is next to just two other banners: a 2019 Eastern Conference championship banner and a single banner commemorating all six of Toronto’s Atlantic Division titles, replacing the individual banners the team used to have for each title.

When it was time to unveil the banner, Lowry took the mic and called his teammates over to stand behind him, then led the crowd in a countdown. As the drape covering the banner fell, Queen’s “We Are The Champions” blared throughout the arena as fireworks and pyrotechnics went off.

“The work that this organization, the players that paved the way, the players that been here before, the players that helped us build this organization and program up, it just meant the world for me to be able to address the crowd and speak for everyone that’s put the work in, the time, the blood and the work, the equity into the organization,” Lowry said.

His teammates were impressed with the final product.

“It’s crazy,” guard Fred VanVleet said after dropping a career-high 34 points. “They did a good job. It’s the best one I’ve seen as far as championship rings. Have to figure out how to wear it. It’s a little uncomfortable on my hands.”

The black banner features a gold Larry O’Brien Trophy, with “Toronto Raptors” and “2019 World Champions” in white above and below the trophy. It is trimmed in red, and the names of the players are featured on the sides.

Each of the fans inside the arena received a replica of the championship ring.

The Warriors told ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith on Tuesday that the plan was still for Thompson to be reevaluated at the break, as previously announced.

Kerr was asked Tuesday if the constant questioning surrounding Kevin Durant’s potential return in last season’s playoffs played any part in how the Warriors are handling the messaging surrounding Thompson’s return.

“I think in general these days it’s more difficult to get out ahead of the messaging on any issue,” Kerr said. “And so you have to be careful, and like I said I probably made a mistake yesterday, but we’re just handling it as we would handle any injury and he’s doing great. Like we said in training camp, we’ll have an update at the All-Star break.”

Warriors center Kevon Looney said that the players haven’t really thought much about Thompson’s return. They want him to return whenever he feels comfortable.

“It’s something that we really haven’t talked about or thought about,” Looney said. “An injury of that seriousness, you got to take your time and make sure. It’s up to Klay to know when he’s ready. Nobody’s putting no pressure on him to have to rush back or come back. We just want to go out there and play and try to be the best that we can be. And if he comes back, great, and if he doesn’t it’s good as well. The most important thing is him getting healthy and be able to have a long career.”

Looney, who missed most of training camp because of a hamstring injury, said he was “95 percent” sure he would play in Thursday night’s season opener against the Wholesale LA Clippers Jerseys.
